Meet Our Team

Phillip Lynn, CPA, MBA is a South Carolina native from Hartsville. He finished his undergraduate degree at The University of South Carolina with a BS in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. He subsequently earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Francis Marion University.

He is also a licensed CPA in the states of South Carolina and Florida. Phillip is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina and Florida Associations of Certified Public Accountants.

Phillip’s experience includes tax consulting, planning, and preparation for individuals and businesses, business entity selection, financial statement preparation & analysis, and payroll & sales tax issues.

Phillip joined the team at William D. Trask, CPA, PA in June of 2001 and became a Partner of Lynn & Wheeler, CPAs, PA in January 2006.

Phillip enjoys spending time with his family, sports, and fishing. Phillip is married to Wendi Potter Lynn and has two children, Tency and Sellers.

Jay holds a Bachelor's in Economics from the University of Kentucky and an MBA from Marshall University. He has over 15 years of experience in all aspects of small to medium-sized business management, accounting, and operations.

For 12 years, he was with a commercial and industrial electrical contracting firm based in West Virginia, as an employee and a partner. During that time, he held various positions in accounting and operations management, ultimately becoming the firm’s CFO. Furthermore, he helped operate and guide the firm through a period of growth from approximately 30 employees operating in one state to over 400 employees operating in five states.

Jay has extensive experience working with closely-held businesses and their owners, serving clients across a wide range of industries, including construction, real estate, retail, professional services, and technology sectors. He also has experience working with individuals in the area of tax preparation and planning.

Jay lives in Vero Beach with his wife and two children.

Deborah has lived in Beaufort since 1966 and has a deep love for the outdoors, especially the rivers and ocean. She and her husband raised their two sons here, and now enjoy time with their grandson in Beaufort, while their granddaughter and her family live in Chattanooga.

Deborah cherishes the beauty of the Lowcountry and the southern charm of the community she has called home for decades.

Brett M. Wheeler, CPA was born and raised in Summerville, South Carolina. He played baseball for the University of South Carolina, Beaufort, and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration, concentrating in Accounting.

Brett is a licensed CPA in the state of South Carolina. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Brett has been with Lynn & Wheeler, CPAs, PA, since January 2012. His experience includes income tax preparation, consulting, and planning for individuals and businesses across various industries, as well as business entity selection, accounting, and financial statement preparation and analysis.

Brett is married to Tara M. Wheeler, and they have two children, Luke and Victoria (Tori). Brett enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and fishing.

Marianne was born and raised in the South Carolina Lowcountry. She graduated from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentrating in Marketing and Management in 2010. She returned to school in 2017 to pursue her degree in Accounting. Marianne graduated from the University of South Carolina-Aiken with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting.

She is a licensed CPA in the state of South Carolina and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Marianne joined Lynn & Wheeler, CPAs, PA in May of 2018. Her experience includes payroll, sales tax, financial statement preparation, and preparation of corporate, individual, and non-profit tax returns.  

Marianne is married to William J. Hawkins, and they have two daughters, Harper & Sloane. In her spare time, Marianne enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

Vika joined Lynn & Wheeler, CPAs, PA in 2024. She holds a Master of Science degree, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Auditing, along with postgraduate studies in accounting, finance, and economics.

With her strong academic background, Vika enjoys tackling complex projects for clients across diverse industries, while also supporting individuals with their tax season needs.

Her career has included work with large corporations in both Europe and the United States, but after moving to Savannah, Georgia, she found greater fulfillment working with a family-oriented firm in Beaufort, South Carolina. Dedicated and detail-oriented, Vika thrives on staying busy, but also makes time for balance—whether at the gym, practicing tennis, spending time with friends and family, or traveling through Europe.

Deborah joined Lynn & Wheeler, CPA, PA in November 2013. She was born and raised in Georgia, and then she moved to South Carolina in 1983.

She graduated from East Georgia College in 1978 with an Associate of Arts Degree.

Deborah and her husband, Harry, reside in Yemassee, SC. They have a blended family of four children and six beautiful grandchildren.

She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, and being on the water.

Zoe grew up in Beaufort before attending the University of South Carolina-Columbia to study Exercise Science. 

She joined the Lynn and Wheeler CPA, PA team in February of 2022 and has gained experience in bookkeeping, payroll, sales tax, and tax preparation. 

Now she works remotely in Chattanooga, TN, and enjoys hiking with her dogs and taking ballet classes in her free time.

Nancy was born and raised in Warren, New Jersey. She graduated from Trenton State College with a B.S. in Business Administration and an emphasis on accounting. 

Nancy has been an Enrolled Agent with the IRS since 2006. She spent over 15 years working in several corporate tax departments in NJ and IL before moving to SC in 2002 with her husband, Danny, and their two daughters. 

Nancy was with Lynn & Wheeler, CPAs, PA from 2013 to 2018 and has recently rejoined the firm. Her experience includes tax preparation for individuals and businesses, along with resolving tax issues with the IRS and various state authorities.

Nancy and her husband, Danny, recently relocated to Ocala, Florida. Their two daughters live in North Carolina. In her spare time, Nancy enjoys sports, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Amber was born and raised in Mooresville, North Carolina. She moved to Beaufort after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.

She joined Lynn & Wheeler, CPAs, PA in May of 2014. Her experience includes payroll, sales tax, tax preparation, and restaurant accounting.

In her free time, Amber enjoys hiking, kayaking, snowboarding, and spending time with friends and her family.

Bambi was raised in Alexandria, Virginia. Before relocating to Beaufort, South Carolina, she was a personal travel consultant for 35 years. 

After reuniting with her high school sweetheart and marrying him after 33 years, she decided to hang up her headset. Once she moved to the Low Country, it was time to pursue another career path.  In 2020, she joined Lynn and Wheeler, CPA, PA firm in the admin department. 

Bambi enjoys spending time with her husband, following real estate, and traveling the world.
